The two reasons we most often hear people cite for not shopping more ethically is:
- Finding the socially responsible brands can be hard, and
- Cost (makes sense, stuff made sustainably by workers who are paid well usually costs a little more to make and is almost always higher quality, but still, most of us are on a budget of some kind).
DoneGood’s Chrome extension seeks to solve both problems.
The plugin is super easy to use — shop online like you normally would: search on Amazon or Google, or go to big-name company websites. Then DoneGood automatically suggests socially responsible alternative companies that have the kind of product you’re looking for.
First launched last November, the recently released version 2.0 of the extension features a completely new design and values badges for DoneGood-approved brands like “supports workers” and “organic/non-GMO” so you can quickly see how the company has done good.
We’re also helping people save some money while shopping from brands they can feel good about. We’re now partnering with dozens of ethical brands to offer exclusive discounts to our users.
Shopping for fair trade, ethically-sourced goods means getting more unique, better-quality stuff, and supporting companies really on a mission to do the right thing. This shouldn’t have to be so hard! Our goal is to make it as easy and accessible as possible for people to find and support companies doing good for people and the planet. The more we support companies like this, the better they’ll do and the more others will follow suit.
